The brief
Three jobs in one corner
The far corner of this Claygate garden had three problems at once. The shed stood up on stilts in the wrong place, a section of fence was damaged, and the space where the owner wanted somewhere to sit was taken up by stumps and shrubs.
The plan was to sort all three in one visit: move the shed, fix the fence and lay a new patio in the corner.
The build
Moving the shed to make room
The shed was taken down from its stilts, moved to its new agreed spot and set back up level and secure. The damaged fence section was taken out and rebuilt with new posts, arris rails and featheredge boards, lined up with the rest of the run.
The patio area was then marked out, cleared of stumps and shrubs, and dug down to depth. MOT Type 1 went in over a weed membrane and was compacted with a whacker plate for a firm, level base. Around 16.5 sqm of mint sandstone was laid in the agreed pattern and pointed in sand and cement.

The result
Somewhere to sit at the end of the garden
The corner now has a level sandstone patio, a shed sitting at ground level where it is easy to use, and a fence that is whole again. The pale mint stone lifts what was a shaded, overgrown part of the garden.
