How we work
Most clearances we do are gardens that have been left for a season or two, or a house that has just changed hands. We cut everything back to a line you can actually see, dig out the roots that will come straight back, and take the waste away the same day so the garden is usable again rather than piled up by the side gate.
We are licensed waste carriers, so nothing goes to a layby. Green waste is charged by the tonne bag, which keeps a small tidy up cheap and means you only pay for what actually leaves the garden.
A clearance is often the first visit before something bigger. If you are thinking about a new patio, a lawn or a planting scheme, we can clear the ground and quote the build off the back of the same visit.
What's included
What a clearance covers
- Cutting back overgrown borders, brambles and ivy
- Hedge reduction and reshaping, including neighbour side where we can reach
- Small tree and stump removal, larger tree work quoted separately
- Lifting old turf, weed membrane, decking boards and rotten timber
- Weeding, edging and jetwashing paths so the garden looks finished, not just emptied
- All green waste removed by a licensed carrier, charged by the tonne bag

FAQs
Garden clearance questions we get asked
How much does a garden clearance cost?
Our rate is £60 per hour for a two man team, or £175 per day per gardener, both including VAT. Green waste is £25 per tonne bag and large tree removal starts at £150. A typical small garden tidy up is a half day plus a bag or two of waste, and bigger clearances are quoted as a fixed price after a visit.
Do you take the waste away?
Yes. We are licensed waste carriers and everything goes to a registered site. Waste is charged per tonne bag so you only pay for what actually leaves the garden.
Can you clear a garden that has been left for years?
That is most of what we clear. Brambles, ivy, self set saplings, old sheds and decking are all normal. We come and look first so you get a fixed price rather than an open ended day rate.
Which areas do you clear gardens in?
We work within about five miles of Thames Ditton, which covers Esher, Claygate, Surbiton, Kingston, Hampton, Teddington, Richmond, Wimbledon and Cobham.
Can you clear the garden and then build a new one?
Yes, and that is the usual route. We clear the ground, then our in house designer and build team quote the patio, lawn or full transformation from the same visit.
