Maintenance for Long Ditton gardens
Interwar and post-war semis and detached houses, with some older cottages and newer infill. Rear gardens are usually a decent depth and often fall away slightly, which is why steps and a level terrace come up so regularly.
Long Ditton borders our own village, so it is a few minutes from the yard and easy for us to service.
The build
How we build it, Long Ditton or anywhere else
Maintenance rounds are built around a route rather than a diary, so the towns we cover are the ones close to the yard. That is what makes a fortnightly visit workable and affordable rather than a scheduled trip across the county.
Every visit is by our own gardener, working to the planting plan where the garden has one, with all green waste taken away the same day.
- An agreed visit schedule, fortnightly or monthly
- Borders weeded, edged and cut back
- Hedge cutting and pruning at the right time of year
- Lawn cutting, edging and seasonal feeding
- One off clearances and tidy ups at £60 per hour for two gardeners
- Pressure washing for patios, paths and driveways
- Spring mulch and autumn clear-down
- A check over paving, drainage and timber while we are there
- All green waste removed under our waste carrier registration
The full detail on materials, build-up and what a quote covers is on our garden maintenance page.

Working in Long Ditton
What we bring on site
Maintenance visits are van, hand tools and mowers. Nothing heavier comes near the garden, so there is no digger, no aggregate delivery and no mess in the house. A standard side gate or a route through is all we need at a Long Ditton address.
Green waste and parking
Cuttings, hedge trimmings and clippings leave with us in the tipper on the day, so nothing sits on your drive between visits and no skip is needed. Where a permit or a parking bay is required in Long Ditton we arrange it with Elmbridge Borough Council and build it into the price.

FAQs
Maintenance questions we get asked
How often do you visit?
Usually fortnightly through the growing season and monthly over winter. Some gardens only need a spring and an autumn visit, which is fine too.
Do you take on gardens you did not build?
Yes, as long as you are within our radius and the garden fits an existing round. We are straight about capacity: gardens we designed and built get first call on the schedule, but we are actively taking on new maintenance clients in the towns close to the yard.
Do I need to be home?
No, as long as we can get to the garden. Most of our maintenance clients are at work when we visit.
What happens to the green waste?
It goes with us and is disposed of under our waste carrier registration. Nothing is left bagged by the side of the house.
How much does it cost?
Our rate is £60 per hour for a two man team, or £175 per day per gardener, both including VAT. Pressure washing is £60 per hour, green waste is £25 per tonne bag and large tree removal starts at £150. Larger clearances and planting projects are priced individually after a visit.
Do you do garden clearances and one off tidy ups?
Yes. A lot of our first visits are exactly that: an overgrown garden cut back, beds cleared, brambles out and everything taken away the same day. Plenty of clients then move onto a regular visit, but there is no obligation to.
Can you pressure wash the patio and driveway?
Yes, at £60 per hour. We wash paving down, check the joints and re-sand or re-point where the jet has taken the old jointing out, which is the step most people skip.
Can you plant the borders as well as cut them back?
Yes. Our in-house designer can put a planting scheme together, we supply the plants and the gardeners plant and water them in, then keep them on the maintenance round afterwards.
Is the work guaranteed?
Maintenance is a service rather than an installation, so there is nothing to warranty, but if a visit is not up to standard we come back and put it right.
